Sales take place in all months and the dates are determined each time by the organization  council in each locality. Sometimes during the year a shop will hold what they call "Promozione" (Promotion) offering discounts on some merchandise. Don't forget that if you will be leaving the European Common Market with your purchases you are entitled to the "Detaxe" - a refund of the sales tax you paid.
